U.S. President Candidate

Explore The Candidate of the U.S. President

About The Candidate

Former President Donald Trump was the first contender to announce his candidacy for the Republican nomination in 2024. He faced impeachment twice by the US House of Representatives, one instance being for his involvement in provoking the fatal insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, after his electoral loss. He continues to reject the 2020 election results, in which he was defeated by Joe Biden, and propagates unfounded conspiracy theories concerning election fraud.

He is also the first former president to face legal charges, having been indicted by a Manhattan grand jury in connection to hush money made to an adult film actress. 91 criminal charges spread across four cases are now on his tail, including allegations of mishandling classified documents following his departure from office.
